Ingrid Vance Aubry
My art grew out of my lifetime profession as a graphic designer and my love of photography. Often my primary inspiration comes from the natural world, particularly the exquisite forms of the flowers and foliage of the Northwest, and is a prominent theme in my work. Ranging from traditional photography to highly manipulated images, I often incorporate whimsical or interesting found objects in my photos. Using the computer as my tool of choice, my photocollage technique involves combining, interweaving and manipulating (and sometimes digitally painting) multiple layers of my images until I produce a final visual image that evokes a mood or emotional quality in a dreamlike or fanciful way.
