I’m interested in the relationship between the fragility of the physical body and the expanse of the conscious mind. The vulnerable matter that collectively holds together as arms, legs, eyes, ears, teeth and bone inevitably conflict with life’s ambitions. This unbreakable bond between mind and body causes a life long power struggle that will always be lost.  When the body changes or is changed an awareness comes into play that creates an uncomfortable confusion. Questions around identity and vitality are raised and a person’s place in relationship to society, cultural experience and self awareness become unhinged. The mind may see the body as broken, grotesque and unwieldy. Bulging distorted masses form internally and externally altering the landscape of the body. The parallel degradation nature inflicts over the course of a lifetime and what organizamos subject the body to, kill the mind by killing the host.  I’m interested in bridging the degradation of the flesh with the simple elegance of organic form. I wish to evoke a sense of quiet ees from the uncomfortable distortions present in and around the changing body. By engaging directing with and opening up the possibility for value in the evolution of flesh gives the mind structural context of it’s limitations. Looking past the persona to the vessel carrying the life I see nature’s beautiful ebb and flow of breath, growth and death unfold; within the confounds of a collection of organs working in unison.
