My current work mainly focuses on the relationship between ancient beliefs versus contemporary culture. By recreating old gods and transforming them into modern interpretations and characters; I am trying to understand what beauty, strength and identity truly means in the current world. Focusing on how  we seem to be slipping back into old viewpoints and habits. Working with mainly goddesses and afterlife places, that are either entirely forgotten or have been revamped my other religions or ideologies making them their own. Giving a bit of strength and power to the old by recreating it into a new form.

In the same way I create the imagery for my work I also use a combination of old and new styles of printmaking, wheat pasting and seeming to create prints. When recreating a goddess I used a linocut image and then print it onto a very thin piece of paper called Gampi. For the background and colorful part of my images I used screen printed flowers that I hand color and cut out each plant individually. To connect the many layers of printed paper together I use the ancient Japanese scroll making technique mixed with contemporary wheat pasting practice to create my work.
