I work in acrylic paint, charcoal, pastel & mixed media. My first great interest in art is everyday people. My subject isn’t exotic or esoteric but then I am not interested in the far off or strange but in everyday life. I like to represent the everyday in a changed form. A new and simple way of looking at it. This brings me to my other great interest in art (the creative experience). I believe every artist must put a stamp of style on his art. So I do let my art wander off into abstraction & surrealism. Let a interesting accident happen. This to me is looking at the everyday in a new way. Each of my pieces of art could thought of as an icon . Each piece an iconic representation of some human activity. Some of my favorite subjects are musicians, night clubs, blue collar workers, street scenes & those left out.
