Sherry HOLLIDAY Hastings

I use many different types of symbolism to tell a story in my oil paintings. I like to feature patterns, relics from the past, mementos from the present, and Floriography – The Language of Flowers. I look at the world as an Anthropologist. Patterns are the foundational element to my work. They are used as a backdrop wallpaper. They represent generations of habits being passed down from generations. It sets the stage for the story. I am an expressive, realist painter who focuses on the sometimes loud still life.
