I am a watercolorist. My favorite subjects have been old black and white photos purchased in “lots” off EBay. For me, anything beyond the 1960’s is getting too late to interest me, and the quality of the photos suffered for a good while after that. I’ve liked the aspect of finding something or someone doing something interesting that might have been overlooked all these decades. Photos with captions are the best, and if it includes an unusual name, I will go on the internet trying to find out what I can about the person. If the photos come in a “lot” from an estate, figuring out the family connections is often possible.
