Patrice Cameron

My watercolor paintings are bold and dramatic OR calming and reflective depending on the amount of pigments I use. All my paintings are created with three primary colors, four distinctive light to dark values, and many crazy fun shapes! This is a technique I have developed, which continues to evolve. I call this my Tri/Quad technique.

I love photo hiking in Oregon, how I feel in nature, and painting early mornings in my studio! Every painting is planned with an intention and I rely on 30 plus years of artistic skill, intuition, and critical assessments to reach my outcomes. My paintings are uniquely abstracted realism scenes, portraits, land and seascapes. I have taught myself to paint with courage and confidence. My work since 2018 has been all about exploration of my technique. Experimenting with various paint combinations, intensities, and subjects have resulted in many paintings and creative growth. New questions are leading me on new explorations. It’s the artist’s way.
